Terms of Stay
Reservations
We have a two-night minimum stay on regular days and three on PH's. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the property, we can’t offer wheelchair access.
Occupancy
Please enjoy the cottage you’ve booked during your paid stay, for the number of guests on your booking. Because we’re fully off-grid, Bankside Cottage is limited to a maximum of five people and Cascadia Cottage to two. Thank you for respecting this as it can only accommodate this number for the sustainability.
Please have a look at the welcome booklet and the signposts so you know the boundaries. The riverside itself is public reserve.
Guest Conduct
Please take good care of everything on the property and let us know if anything breaks. We simply ask that you act legally and considerately while you’re here. We do reserve the right to ask guests to leave if this, or the occupancy, isn’t respected.
Your Safety
'
We’re right on the riverside, so the tracks and riverbank can have a few hazards. Please take care and use common sense, especially around outdoor bathing (hot or cold). All activities are strictly at your own risk. Kaituna Riverside Cottages Pty Ltd accepts no liability for accidents, property loss/damage or personal injury during your stay.
Weather
Cooler months: We’re at the foothills of the Tararua Ranges, so the weather can be spectacular (and changeable!). Check the forecast and pack accordingly, especially if you’re heading into the ranges.
Summer: It gets properly hot here—please look after yourself and stay sun-safe.
Pets
You’re welcome to bring a dog to Bankside Cottage. Please keep them close and don’t let them wander onto neighbouring farmland. Use a lead, tie them up or use the kennel and run if needed. No dogs inside and please clean up after them.
